Why a late registration fee? We hoped paddlers would register early so we could get an estimate of the number of participants. In the next 4 days we need to order (and pay for) event shirts, food for two meals (Friday evening and post race party), assess water safety needs (escort boats), assess man power needs, reserve tables, chairs, etc. . . . you get the picture) . . . MAHALO to those who registered early!
